Cosmetic Dentistry in Turkey

Cosmetic dentistry in Turkey, with the prices printed on the page.

Most clinics make you fill in a form to find out what a veneer costs. We publish it. This guide explains what cosmetic dental treatment in Turkey actually involves, what each option costs per tooth, how long you need to stay in Antalya, and how to tell a careful clinic from a fast one.

The scope

What "cosmetic dentistry" actually means in Turkey

It is not one procedure. It is a group of treatments that change the shape, colour, alignment or completeness of the teeth you show when you smile — and the right one for you depends far more on the condition of your existing teeth than on what you saw online.

The term covers everything from a single afternoon of whitening to a full-arch rebuild on implants. In Antalya you will see all of it advertised under the same banner, often under the same headline price, which is why patients arrive with a number in their head that has nothing to do with their own mouth.

Here is the honest version. Cosmetic dental work in Turkey falls into four groups, and they are not interchangeable:

Cosmetic dentistry treatment groups compared
Group What it does Tooth structure removed Typical case From (per tooth)
Whitening Lightens the natural shade of your own enamel None Healthy, well-aligned teeth that have stained with age, coffee or tobacco £250 full course
Laminate veneers Thin ceramic facings bonded to the front surface Minimal — front surface only Good underlying teeth with shade, chip or small gap complaints £210
Crowns Full ceramic caps that cover the whole tooth Significant — the tooth is reshaped all round Heavily filled, root-treated, worn, broken or badly rotated teeth £165
Implant-supported work Replaces teeth that are missing or unsaveable N/A — the tooth is already gone Gaps, failing teeth, long-term denture wearers £390 implant + abutment

Prices are LD Klinik's published list prices. Full price list further down this page.

The one distinction worth understanding before you enquire. A veneer keeps most of your tooth. A crown does not. If a clinic quotes you sixteen or twenty "veneers" on healthy teeth without an examination, what is usually being described is crowns — and that is an irreversible decision made on a price list. A good clinic will tell you which of your teeth genuinely need covering and which only need whitening or a small composite repair, even though that answer earns them less.

What cosmetic dentistry cannot fix

Ceramic hides the surface. It does not treat what is underneath. If you have active gum disease, untreated decay, an unstable bite or a heavy grinding habit, those are dealt with first — otherwise the new work fails early and the guarantee is meaningless. This is the single most common reason a smile makeover goes wrong, and it has nothing to do with the country it was done in.

  • Gum disease is stabilised before any ceramic is fitted. Crowns placed on inflamed gums will show dark margins within a year.
  • Severe crowding is usually better corrected with Invisalign than by grinding straight teeth down for crowns.
  • Grinding and clenching needs a night guard, or ceramic will chip regardless of the material used.
  • Missing back teeth load the front teeth. Fixing the front only is a short-term result.

Choosing

Start from your complaint, not from the treatment name

Patients usually arrive asking for a named procedure. It is more useful to describe the problem and let the examination pick the method. These are the four routes most cosmetic cases take.

Route one

"My teeth are fine, they're just dark"

Straight, healthy, unfilled teeth that have yellowed. The correct answer here is whitening — not ceramic. Whitening removes nothing and can be repeated. If a clinic pushes past this to a full set of crowns, ask why.

£250 whitening with cleaning
Route two

"Small gaps, chips, slightly uneven"

Underlying teeth are sound. Laminate veneers keep the back and sides of the tooth intact and only resurface what shows. Usually 6–10 upper teeth, occasionally matched on the lower arch.

£210 per E.max laminate veneer
Route three

"Heavily filled, root-treated or worn down"

Teeth already carrying large fillings or root canals cannot reliably hold a thin veneer. Full crowns are the appropriate choice: monolithic zirconium for strength in the back, E.max where light behaviour matters at the front.

£165–£210 per crown
Route four

"I'm missing teeth, or some can't be saved"

Cosmetic work over gaps is a temporary illusion. Implants restore the foundation first, and the ceramic goes on top. This route takes two visits with healing in between, and is planned with a CBCT scan.

£390 per implant with abutment
How many teeth is a smile makeover? There is no fixed number. The visible zone when most people smile is the upper six to ten teeth. Widen the smile and the premolars show, which is where 16 and 20-tooth plans come from. The right number is the one where the ceramic stops and your natural teeth take over without a visible step in colour. That line is decided at the examination, on your face, not in advance on a price list.
Your week in Antalya

What actually happens, day by day

A veneer or crown case is normally completed in a single visit of five to seven days. This is the standard sequence. Implant cases follow a different, two-visit path — set out underneath.

Day 1

Examination and scan

Clinical examination, intra-oral scan and CBCT 3D imaging where needed. Your written plan and final price are confirmed before anything begins.

Day 1–2

Digital smile design

Shape, length, midline and shade are designed digitally against your face and agreed with you on screen. Changes are free at this stage and expensive later.

Day 2

Preparation and temporaries

Teeth are prepared under local anaesthetic and temporary crowns fitted the same day. You leave with teeth, and you test-drive the design.

Day 3–5

Try-in and adjustment

The finished ceramics are tried in unbonded. Shade, contact points and bite are checked. Anything you dislike is remade before it is cemented.

Day 5–7

Fit and hand-over

Final cementation, bite refinement, polish, and your guarantee document with the materials used. Aftercare instructions in your own language.

If implants are part of the plan

Implant-supported cosmetic work cannot be compressed into one week without cutting a corner somewhere. The honest sequence is two visits:

  • Visit one, 5–7 days. Extractions where needed, implant placement, any grafting or sinus work, temporary prosthesis fitted.
  • Healing, 3–6 months at home. The implant integrates with bone. Your own dentist can see you during this period; we stay in contact remotely.
  • Visit two, 5–7 days. Final ceramics designed, tried in and fitted. This is the visit that produces the result you came for.

If a clinic offers you a permanent, final full-arch result in a single week from extraction, understand what is being promised and ask what happens when the gums recede during healing.

Materials and technology

What goes in your mouth, and what it is made of

Material choice is the difference between a result that reads as teeth and one that reads as dentistry. Neither material below is universally better — they are used for different jobs.

Lithium disilicate

IPS e.max®

Highly translucent glass ceramic. Light passes through it the way it passes through enamel, which is why it is the front-tooth material of choice. Used for laminate veneers and single anterior crowns. Less suited to heavy load in the back of the mouth.

Zirconia

Monolithic zirconium

Milled from a single block, so there is no porcelain layer to chip off. Considerably stronger under load, which makes it the sensible choice for molars, bridges and long spans. Modern multilayer zirconia has closed much of the old aesthetic gap.

  • CBCT 3D imaging — bone volume and nerve position assessed before any surgical decision
  • Intra-oral scanning — digital impressions, no gagging on impression trays
  • CEREC same-day crowns — chairside milling where the case allows it
  • Digital smile design — you approve the shape on screen before teeth are touched
  • Osstem implant system — documented implant brand, recorded in your file
  • 5-year written guarantee — on implants and prosthetics, issued as a document
  • Internationally trained clinicians — active members of ITI, ICOI and ESCD
  • English-speaking team — clinicians and coordinators, plus German and Polish
Getting here

Antalya from the UK, Ireland, Poland, Romania and Germany

Antalya (AYT) is a major leisure airport, which is the practical reason cosmetic dentistry concentrated here rather than in Istanbul: direct flights, high frequency and low fares from exactly the countries our patients fly from.

Departing from Direct flight time to Antalya Language support at the clinic Typical trip length
United KingdomApprox. 4h 15m – 4h 45mEnglish5–7 nights
IrelandApprox. 4h 45m – 5hEnglish5–7 nights

RomaniaApprox. 2h – 2h 30mEnglish5–7 nights
GermanyApprox. 3h 15m – 3h 45mGerman, English5–7 nights

Flight durations are typical scheduled direct-service times and vary by departure airport, carrier and season. Check current schedules when booking.

Practical points patients ask about

  • Flights are booked by you. Hotel and airport transfers are included in the treatment package. Booking your own flight keeps you in control of dates and refunds.
  • Book flexible dates. Try-in stages occasionally need an extra day. A fixed cheap return on day five is a false economy.
  • Do not book heavy excursions mid-treatment. Days one to three are the busy clinical days. The back half of the week is lighter.
  • Flying after treatment. Crown and veneer work does not restrict flying. Surgical procedures — extractions, implants, sinus work — usually mean waiting a few days, and your clinician will tell you exactly how many.
  • Travel insurance. Standard travel policies generally exclude planned medical treatment abroad. Read yours before you fly rather than after.
Due diligence

Ten questions that separate a careful clinic from a fast one

Ask these of every clinic you shortlist, including this one. A clinic that answers all ten in writing, before a deposit, is a clinic worth flying to. We have deliberately not named any competitor — the point is the questions, not the comparison.

  • Will you send a written, itemised quotation before I book a flight? Per tooth, per procedure, with the material named. "From £X" is not a quotation.
  • Which teeth are you proposing to crown, and which to veneer, and why? If the answer is the same for every patient, it is a product, not a plan.
  • What exactly is the guarantee, and what voids it? Get the length, the scope, and the exclusions in a document you can read at home.
  • Which implant brand and which ceramic, by name? You should be able to look the manufacturer up.
  • Who is the treating dentist, and can I see their registration? Not the coordinator, the clinician.
  • Will I have temporaries between preparation and fitting? The answer must be yes.
  • Is there a try-in before final cementation? This is the stage where problems are still free to fix.
  • What happens if I don't like the shade or shape? Ask what it costs and how long it adds.
  • What is the plan if something fails after I go home? Who do I contact, in what language, and who pays for what.
  • Am I being told anything I don't want to hear? A clinic that never says no to a request is not assessing you.
On the "Turkey teeth" reputation. The criticism that reached British and Irish media is real, and it is specific: healthy teeth reduced to pegs for crowns that were never clinically necessary, on plans agreed from photographs. The country is not the variable. The variable is whether an examination happened before the treatment was decided, and whether anyone was willing to recommend less work than the patient asked for.

Questions

Cosmetic dentistry in Turkey — answered plainly

How much does cosmetic dentistry cost in Turkey?

At LD Klinik it depends entirely on how many teeth are treated and in what material. A monolithic zirconium crown is £165 per tooth, an E.max crown or laminate veneer is £210 per tooth, and professional whitening with cleaning is £250 for the course. A common ten-unit upper smile makeover therefore sits between £1,650 and £2,100 in treatment costs. Implant-supported work starts at £390 per implant with abutment. Your written quotation is itemised per tooth and fixed before you book a flight.

Is cosmetic dentistry in Turkey safe?

Safety depends on the clinic, not the country. The elements that make it safe are an in-person examination before the plan is finalised, imaging where surgery is involved, documented implant and ceramic brands, temporaries between stages, a try-in before final cementation, and a written guarantee. The cases that went badly and reached the media generally failed on the first of those — the plan was agreed from photographs rather than after an examination.

How long do I need to stay in Antalya?

Five to seven days for a veneer or crown case, completed in a single visit. If implants are part of the plan, you need two visits of five to seven days each, separated by three to six months of healing at home. Anyone offering a final, permanent full-arch implant result in a single week is compressing a stage that should not be compressed.

What is the difference between veneers and crowns?

A veneer is a thin ceramic facing bonded to the front surface of the tooth, removing very little tooth structure. A crown covers the whole tooth and requires it to be reshaped all round. Veneers suit healthy teeth with shade, chip or small gap complaints. Crowns are appropriate for heavily filled, root-treated, worn or badly rotated teeth. The choice is clinical, not cosmetic, and it is irreversible in the case of crowns.

How many teeth do I need for a smile makeover?

Most people show six to ten upper teeth when smiling, which is why those numbers are most common. Wider smiles reveal the premolars, which is where sixteen and twenty-unit plans come from. The correct number is the point at which the ceramic ends and your natural teeth continue without a visible colour step — determined at your examination, on your own smile line.

Will my teeth look obviously fake?

That is a design decision, not a material limitation. The very white, very uniform look comes from choosing a bright shade with flat, identical tooth shapes. Natural results use slight length variation, translucency at the edges and a shade matched to your face and age. At LD Klinik the design is agreed with you on screen before any tooth is prepared, and you wear temporaries in that shape before the final ceramics are made.

Does cosmetic dental treatment hurt?

Preparation and fitting are carried out under local anaesthetic, so the appointments themselves are not painful. Mild sensitivity to hot and cold is normal for a few days after preparation and while wearing temporaries, and settles once the final ceramics are bonded. Surgical procedures such as extractions and implant placement involve more post-operative soreness, managed with standard painkillers. Sedation is available where anxiety is a factor.

How long do veneers and crowns last?

With good oral hygiene, regular check-ups and a night guard if you grind, well-fitted ceramic restorations commonly last ten to fifteen years and often longer. What shortens their life is gum disease, decay at the margins, and grinding. LD Klinik provides a 5-year written guarantee on implants and prosthetics; the guarantee document sets out precisely what is covered and what is excluded.

What happens if something goes wrong after I fly home?

Contact the clinic first — most issues are minor and can be assessed from photographs, and many adjustments can be carried out by a local dentist with our instructions. Where a restoration is covered by the guarantee and needs remaking, that is arranged with us directly. Establish this process in writing before treatment, with any clinic, so that you know who to contact and what is covered before you need it.

Can I combine treatment with a holiday?

Partly. The first two to three days are the clinically busy ones and are not a good time for excursions, sun exposure or alcohol. The back half of the week is lighter and most patients use it to see Antalya. Plan any significant sightseeing for after the final fitting rather than between stages.

Do you treat patients who are nervous about dentists?

Yes, and it is worth saying at the enquiry stage rather than on arrival, so the appointments can be paced accordingly. Longer consultation time, staged appointments and sedation are all available. Sedation is charged at £390 per hour and is agreed in advance as part of your written quotation.

Why is cosmetic dentistry cheaper in Turkey than in the UK or Ireland?

The difference is operating cost, not material cost. Clinical salaries, premises, laboratory work and insurance are substantially lower in Türkiye, while the ceramics and implant systems are bought from the same international manufacturers. The saving is real, but it should never be the only reason to choose a clinic — compare the plan, the materials, the guarantee and the aftercare route before comparing the price.

Send a photo. Get a written plan.

Message a clear photo of your smile and tell us what you would change. You will get an itemised written quotation with the material named for each tooth — not a headline price, and no obligation to book anything.
